| The name of this website satirically reflects the diet and appearance-obsessed culture we live in. However, eating disorders go beyond a concern with weight and body image. Psychological problems are the underlying cause of eating disorders, and self-imposed rules about food become a way to express feelings and to deal with emotional issues. Pro-Ana Nation displays my personal views about societal standards regarding body image, and my complex relationship with an eating disorder, which simply means I have not recovered from my mental illness.
